SPEAKER SAIKI ANNOUNCES ACT 279 WORKING GROUP MEMBERS

Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – Speaker Scott K. Saiki today announced the appointment of three new members to the Act 279 Working Group. House Majority Leader Nadine K. Nakamura will assume the role of Chair, while Representative Luke A. Evslin and Representative Darius K. Kila will join as newly appointed members.

In January 2023, the House adopted H.R. No. 10, establishing a working group to oversee DHHL's execution of funds pursuant to Act 279, Session Laws of Hawaiʻi 2022.

Majority Leader Nadine K. Nakamura stated, "The House is dedicated to collaborating with DHHL and the Administration to maximize the impact of the $600 million allocated for reducing the long-standing waitlist. We aim to assist the greatest number of beneficiaries and bring about significant improvements in housing for native Hawaiians."
