Duke and Lynn Launch Web Series Video on Drug Prevention

from www.AionaFinnegan.com

HONOLULU - Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan today launched the final video of their online web series to discuss issues that are important to Hawai‘i's working families and small businesses.  The final spot, "Easier," focuses on Duke Aiona’s commitment to prevention as a means to shaping a healthier Hawai‘i.

As Lt. Governor, Duke Aiona has taken a hands-on, collaborative approach to prevention efforts, emphasizing education, awareness and changing societal attitudes about illicit drugs and underage drinking.

An Aiona-Finnegan Administration will continue to promote programs that teach healthy lifestyles in schools, workplaces and in the home, and they will serve as a role model for these programs.

The web video can be viewed online at www.AionaFinnegan.com/webseries or Duke and Lynn's YouTube channel on www.YouTube.com/user/DukeAiona.

The following is a transcript of Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan's final web series video, "Easier."

Duke Aiona (as voice over):

I’ve seen what drugs can do to young people…to families… to communities.

That’s why I’ve put so much of my time into keeping our keiki and mo`o puna away from drugs and alcohol…and out of trouble.

As Governor, I’ll bring together all the resources I can to prevent the problem from ever happening in the first place.

It’s a tough problem, but the way I look at it, it’s easier to build strong children… than to fix broken adults.
