Matson stock price drop affects Dow Jones Transport Average

The Dow Jones publication Market Watch published on May 5, 2016, an investment note, “Matson's stock plunge turns Dow transports negative.”

The note reports that Matson Inc. (NYSE: MATX)’s disappointing first quarter 2016 financial results reported on May 4th caused it’s common share stock price to drop substantially and turning down the Dow Jones Transportation Average negative on the morning of May 5th.

Matson’s common stock closed on Thursday, May 05, 2016, at $32.82 per share down $4.69 (12.50%) on the day.

The stock's 52 week high was $53.18 per share in early November 2015, representing a drop of $20.26 per share or 37.64% over approximately six months….
