Guam Governor Endorses Ted Cruz for President
By News Release @ 7:29 PM :: 4092 Views :: Republican Party

Dear Senator Cruz,     January 28, 2016

I endorse your campaign for President and I am eager to support you as Guam Chairman of Cruz for President.

We share many views on fiscal and foreign policy. As for immigration, you should know that the federal government has imposed the most liberal immigration policy in U.S. history upon our island without contrition, recompense, or even acknowledgment. Your concern over and solutions to the mismanagement and irresponsibility of the federal government in reckless immigration policy will serve our island well.

As for your convictions on the protection of the rights of citizens to speak and protest, to worship, and to protect themselves and bear arms, not only do I agree with you, I wish more in the federal establishment would understand how meaningful it is for someone in Washington to recognize that such rights are even more important to a territorial citizenry often burdened by the federal behemoth. Your crusade against the consolidation of federal power means something real and vital to the future of Guam and the protection of our culture, language, and the political and economic autonomy we need to thrive. It has been a crushing and ever-increasing burden for years.

Finally, and of most importance to me, we both believe in a culture of life, the protection of the unborn, and the strengthening of families. I hope you win the nomination and the election. I will lobby the Republican Party of Guam to dedicate all our delegate votes to you, and I will lead fundraising efforts on Guam as well.

Sincerely,

Eddie Baza Calvo

Governor of Guam
