Students behind the UH Hilo free speech case speak out for the first time

From Grassroot Institute

Merritt Burch and Anthony Vizonne are the leaders of the Young Americans for Liberty chapter at UH Hilo, and recently made news this year when they were restricted from passing out the Constitution on campus.  Merritt and Anthony sued the school and won the case!

The Grassroot Institute will present Merritt and Anthony with the 2015 Unsung Hero Award for their work in challenging the free speech codes at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.  Merritt and Anthony are prepared to speak about their case publicly, which will be the first time they are able to do this in Hawaii.  During the case, they were unable to make public comment.  Their attorney from the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), Greg Lukianoff will also join us via a skype interview.

Friday, January 30

7:30 am - 9:00 am

Pacific Club, 1451 Queen Emma St, Honolulu
