Video: Anti-GMO Maui Mayoral Candidate Runs from Cop, Gets Tazed
By Andrew Walden @ 5:00 PM :: 9662 Views :: Maui County, Law Enforcement, GMOs

by Andrew Walden

Here is video of Maui Mayoral candidate Beau Hawkes, a completely typical and average anti-GMO activist, going about his daily routine.  When Hawkes appears to outrun the officer, he doubles back and puts himself right in front of the videographer just as he gets tased.

MauiWatch July 24, 2014 reports, "Witnesses say that the suspect ran from the police earlier that day, for allegedly not having license plates or a driver’s license. Beau was seen testifying in Council Chambers across the street, where public hearings on the GMO moratorium were conducted."  The Maui News quotes Hawkes: "I'm actually a private individual, a sovereign independent person, and I don't need license plates.'' Shockingly, Maui News reports "Hawkes is owner of Maui Wowie, a brand of bamboo bongs."

After Hawkes and his comrades testified, the Maui Council give them exactly what they want, putting an anti-GMO referendum on the November 4 ballot.

Like many of his kind, Hawkes' rationale for believing he is above the law stems from a God-like self-image.  He tells the Star-Advertiser: "I'm not a lunatic. I am a hippie. Jesus was a hippie. I walk barefoot all the time because it keeps me connected to the electromagnetic field in the earth."

Hawkes is the second Maui Mayoral candidate arrested this month.  On Tuesday July 15, convicted fraudster Nelson Waikiki was arrested at a candidate forum because he has allegedly not been reporting for mandatory drug tests while he awaits sentencing.

On a related matter-- did you know that marijuana is a GMO?

UPDATE:  Here is a longer version of the video featuring Hawkes screaming "I'm not resisting" until he begins to become hoarse.
