GOVERNOR’S STATEMENT ON THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION

News Release from Office of the Governor Mar 27, 2014

HONOLULU – Gov. Neil Abercrombie today gave the following statement regarding the reappointment of Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Chair Hermina Morita.

“We are at a very critical juncture in developing our clean energy future and the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) needs stability to continue to address many of the important regulatory issues before it. (Translation: I can't find a credible candidate for this job, just scammers tied to one scheme or another.)  Therefore, I intend to keep Mina Morita as Chair of the PUC, on a holdover basis beyond June 30, 2014 when her term ends.

“At the present time, Chair Morita has business before the Board of Land and Natural Resources, which must be addressed.  (I know, I decided to instigate that years-old 'business', duh!).

“She will continue to serve in the position while these issues are being resolved.”  (Meaning what? Once I am finished torturing her over the B&B issue, then I will toss her?  Prolly during election season when the Senate doesn't want to get caught up in a Special Session.)
