Presentations on Rescuing Entangled Whales and Preventing Vessel-Whale Collisions

Pacific Whale Foundation's bi-monthly Making Waves Lecture Series will present a free talk on rescuing entangled humpback whales off Maui and preventing vessel-whale collisions. Titled "Watch Out, Whales About," the presentation will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Pacific Whale Foundation's Discovery Center at the Ma'alaea Harbor Shops. Admission is free and the public is invited....

The evening will also include a presentation by Greg Kaufman, Pacific Whale Foundation Founder and Executive Director on the "Be Whale Aware" program to help prevent vessel-whale collisions. Kaufman will also be presenting observations from Pacific Whale Foundation's research team from its study relating to the potential for vessel-whale collisions and unexpected encounters with whales off the coast of Maui.
