Announcement from Transform Hawaii Government September 18, 2013

Tuesday was a big day for the State of Hawaii’s business and information technology transformation initiative. After more than a year in the making, the Office of Information Management and Technology (OIMT) announced a request for proposal (RFP) to develop an integrated financial and human resources management system, also known as an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This system is a key element for the transformation that will modernize and integrate numerous legacy systems and move the state closer to improving Every Service for Every Citizen on Every Island.

A statement from Governor Neil Abercrombie on the release of the ERP RFP: “The implementation of the ERP system is one of the top initiatives in our state’s Business and Information Technology Transformation Plan, unveiled and launched last year. The ERP system will dramatically improve the way government conducts its business by reducing labor-intensive, paper-based processes, eliminating the need for duplication of efforts, and allowing state workers to provide improved services to taxpayers faster, more efficiently, and at a reduced cost.”

To participate in the ERP RFP process, vendors must register to use the Hawaii State eProcurement (HIePRO) system. Registration information is available at the State Procurement Office website at: hawaii.gov/spo.
