OHA ramps up its online presence with new site
News Release from OHA May 29, 2013
In its latest attempt to better connect with mobile audiences, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs has added the popular blogging service Tumblr to its growing mix of multi-media and information outlets.
OHA's new Tumblr site features videos, audio, photos and texts that users can share with others. The site also helps position OHA with Tumblr's loyal following of youthful active users who are known to seek information using mobile phones and other electronic devices.
The new site reflects a broader effort at OHA to more effectively engage and motivate Hawaiian audiences through its monthly newspaper, radio talk show, new websites as well as such social-networking sites as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
"This is about adapting to the new ways that information is being delivered and consumed in an increasingly digital age," said OHA's Chief Executive Officer Kamanaʻopono Crabbe. "Our new digital-media efforts are critical to our ability to capitalize on opportunities to connect with all of our key stakeholders."
