Bills 11 & 12: Pine Appeals for Leeward, Ewa Projects
By Councilmember Kymberly Marcos Pine @ 8:42 AM :: 4097 Views :: Honolulu County

Message to Constituents from Councilmember Kym Pine May 2, 2013

Next week the City Council will host its budget hearing which will include three important projects that I am fighting to secure. These projects, and others in the budget bills will positively affect the quality of life in our District.

Included in the projects that will benefit our District is a multi-million dollar investment in Makaha Beach Park and Pu'u O Hulu (Ma'ili Kai) Community Park, as well as continued funding for the Leeward Coast Benefits Program - a $1.5 million community improvement package that will benefit Leeward residents and community service providers.

However, this is just the first step. The budget process is just beginning and we need Mayor Caldwell and his Administration to support these important community improvements!

Will you stand with me and tell the Mayor that you support these important projects to improve the quality of life for Leeward residents?

Call Mayor Kirk Caldwell (768-4141) and Managing Director Ember Shinn (768-6634) or email mayor@honolulu.gov today.  Tell them that you support these projects in Bill 11 (Leeward Coast Benefits Program) and Bill 12 (Makaha and Pu'u O Hulu Parks).

Please also consider attending the Budget Committee hearing at Honolulu Hale on May 9th at 9:00 a.m. to voice your support for these projects in Bills 11 and 12. Register to testify by clicking here or by calling 768-3815. If you cannot make it to the meeting on May 9th, click here to email written testimony in support of the Leeward Coast Benefit Package in Bill 11 and the Makaha and Pu'u O Hulu Parks in Bill 12.

With your help, we will make sure that  the Leeward Coast and Ewa Region will continue to shine as a vibrant and growing community!
