This past year has proved to be a troubling time in our State & County governments with higher taxes, unfriendly climate to small businesses and HB444 Civil Unions. Though the people have spoken loudly against these issues, our elected government leaders have continually gone against the wishes of the people.
As the State Chairman of Christian Coalition I have continually and consistently taken a stand against issues such as physician assisted suicide and same sex marriage. I am also in favor of bettering our environment and lowering taxes. We must provide a better and safer Hawaii for our families and future generations.
After much prayer and input from close friends and family, I believe the time may have come to enter government rather than fighting from the sidelines. Therefore I am seriously considering running against Senator Brian Taniguchi or Representative Scott Saiki. Prior to making my final decision I would like to hear from my many friends and supporters of Hawaii Christian Coalition as I value your support, prayers and friendships. I now ask for your thoughts via email as to whether I should:
- Run against Senator Taniguchi
- Run against Representative Saiki
- OR continue to fight from the sidelines
Should I enter into the political arena, I will still remain the leader of the Hawaii Christian Coalition and I assure you that the organization will remain a strong voice in government.
I thank you in advanced for your feedback and continued prayers on this important decision.
Respectfully Yours,
Garret T. Hashimoto
Hawaii State Chairman Christian Coalition
