HSTA continues to applaud and thank Hawaii teachers for the feedback and insight that resulted in developing a proposal to the State that truly reflects our collective voice.
Given the nature of negotiations, the proposal HSTA took to the table is a starting point and is subject to change. HSTA's proposal will naturally evolve in relation to what the State brings to the table. This is part of any bargaining process.
While the last two years have caused teachers to feel frustrated and fatigued, we ask that teachers prepare for these negotiations to continue at length. As you know, there are many items within our proposal that must be addressed in detail. HSTA's negotiations Team asks for your continued support.
Teachers are welcome to show support by continuing to educate the public and building solidarity with in your communities. HSTA invites teachers to exercise solidarity through upcoming events and activities. Hawaii teachers are making it clear - this is our year to improve students' learning conditions and teachers' working conditions.
