Hirono a No-Show at Waimea Candidates’ Forum
From www.Lingle2012.com
Hirono was a “No-Show” again at the Waimea Community Association Candidate Forum, continuing to avoid her constituents on neighbor islands, whom she represents in Congressional District 2.
According to the Big Island News Center, “With less than 4 weeks left before the General Election, four heated North Hawai’i races [were] in the spotlight” and “all candidates in the four races have been invited.” Of the “four heated North Hawai’i races,” Hirono was the only candidate who did not feel it was important enough to attend.
Instead of canceling the forum, the event became talk story session, which allowed attendees to still hear Lingle’s platform and learn more about the former Hawaii governor.
Linda Lingle has confirmed 6 debates and forums on the neighbor islands, 2 on Hawaii Island including last night’s Waimea Community Association Candidate Forum, 3 on Maui, and 1 on Kauai. Hirono has confirmed zero.
