Aloha
Our opponent has ducked a debate with us . . . again. Two weeks ago, she avoided debating us at a Waikiki Neighborhood Board forum moderated by KHON's Tami Mori at the Sheraton Waikiki. Today, she avoided debating us at a forum moderated by former KHNL anchor Diane Ako hosted by the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association at the Hilton.
Below is a tweet sent out by our opponent's campaign that gave an excuse as to why she refused to debate us in Waikiki two weeks ago. This tweet shows you the condescending tone and haughty style of her campaign.
Our opponent is now in Hawaii, but she's still not showing up to debate. We can only guess that our opponent doesn't like to debate us because when she does, she ends up defending the union practice of firing workers who refuse to donate and volunteer on her campaign. Or, maybe it's because she argues that everything in the economy is going well and 'public confidence' is all that is needed to turn things around.
Our campaign is different, we believe things are headed in the wrong direction and local families are hurting. We will work hard to make sure we start balancing our budgets, expand trade, and reduce regulations on small business to create jobs and restore hope in the future for our children.
We can win this race, but only with your help. We have less than 33 days to go until election day, please consider making a contribution or donating your time to make a difference in our race.
Aloha,
Team Djou
P.S. Our opponent is well-financed by the political machine. She thinks that she can win this race by avoiding debates on the tough issues facing our state and nation. Mahalo in advance for your donation of $25, $50 or any amount up to $2500. |
