Six More Schools Attain Adequate Yearly Progress

News Release from Hawaii DoE

Six schools with successful appeals met Adequate Yearly Progress, raising the final total to 139 out of 286, or 49%.

Since the preliminary AYP results were announced on July 17, the following schools' AYP status has changed from "not met" to "met:" Kalani High, Pahoa High & Intermediate, Mokapu Elementary, Sunset Beach Elementary, Waters of Life Public Charter School, and West Hawaii Explorations Academy

The final No Child Left Behind status for School Year 2012-13 finds 140 schools in "Good Standing" (49%), 33 in "School Improvement" (12%), 19 in "Corrective Action" (7%), 11 in "Planning for Restructuring" (4%), and 83 in "Restructuring" (29%).
Total percentages may not be exactly 100% due to rounding.

On the web: Final AYP complex summary (13 pages) and school-by-school (288 pages) reports are posted online at http://arch.k12.hi.us.
