Fifteen Candidates Fail to Report Campaign Spending

From Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission

The following candidates received partial public funding for the 2012 Primary Election and have failed to file the Primary Election Expenditure of Public Funds Report due August 31, 2012:

  • Cullen, Sy Friends of Sy Cullen
  • Ing, Mark Friends of Kaniela Ing

The fine for not filing the Primary Election Expenditure of Public Funds Report by the due date, if assessed, shall not exceed $50 per day for the first seven days, beginning with the day after the due date of the report, and shall not exceed $200 per day thereafter; provided that in aggregate, the fine shall not exceed twenty-five per cent of the total amount expenditures for the period covered by the report; and the minimum fine for a report filed more than four days after the due date, if assessed, shall be $200.

The following candidates running in 2012 and on the Primary Ballot have failed to file the Final Primary Report due August 31, 2012:

  • Ebert, Roy Friends of Roy Ebert

The fine for not filing the Final Primary Report by the due date, if assessed, shall not exceed $50 per day for the first seven days, beginning with the day after the due date of the report, and shall not exceed $200 per day thereafter; provided that in aggregate, the fine shall not exceed twenty-five per cent of the total amount of contributions or expenditures, whichever is greater, for the period covered by the report; and the minimum fine for a report filed more than four days after the due date, if assessed, shall be $200.

The following candidates running in 2012 and on the Primary Ballot have failed to file the 2nd Preliminary Primary Report due August 1, 2012:

  • DAlmeida, Eric Eric D'Almeida 4 Hawaii

The fine for not filing the 2nd Preliminary Primary Report by the due date, if assessed, shall not exceed $300 per day; provided that in aggregate, the fine shall not exceed twenty-five per cent of the total amount of contributions or expenditures, whichever is greater, for the period covered by the report; and the minimum fine, if assessed, shall be $300.

The following candidates not running in 2012 have failed to file the Supplemental Report due July 31, 2012:

  • Wasson, Dawn Friends for Dawn K. Wasson

The fine for not filing the Supplemental Report by the due date, if assessed, shall not exceed $50 per day for the first seven days, beginning with the day after the due date of the report, and shall not exceed $200 per day thereafter; provided that in aggregate, the fine shall not exceed twenty-five per cent of the total amount of contributions or expenditures, whichever is greater, for the period covered by the report; and the minimum fine for a report filed more than four days after the due date, if assessed, shall be $200.
