I am deeply honored to have been endorsed by Veterans In Politics International.
VIP's mission is to support candidates for public office fully committed to keeping our nation's promise to our veterans and your families.
I was grateful to Dennis Egge, Vietnam veteran and VIP board member (and, among other positions, Hawai'i Chapter President, National Association of Uniformed Services, and Chair, Legislative Committee, O'ahu Veterans Council), for presenting VIP's endorsement personally at my recent West O'ahu Talk Story in Kapolei.
Dennis said: “Ed Case shows genuine concern for our veterans, the military personnel and their families residing in Hawai'i. He has a record of standing by veterans, and we believe he will work diligently to improve the quality of life for them and their families.”
I did focus on the special concerns of Hawai'i's 120,000 veterans during my service as Congressman. (Military/Veterans Record 2002-2007) These were not just the big-picture national challenges of assuring veterans health, education, employment and other benefits, but of assisting thousands of individual veterans back home with their own needs.
In 2009 I was recognized for these efforts with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Maui 100th/442nd Veterans Club. The certificate reads:
"In a time when veterans’ sacrifices seemed too often taken for granted and/or forgotten, his silent but gracious commitment was largely responsible for ensuring that our government kept its promise and commitment to Maui veterans.”
The next generation brings tremendous challenges and opportunities for our nation's present and future veterans. I'm grateful for your service and support, and know that I can get the job done in the U.S. Senate for all veterans and your families.
Mahalo and aloha,
Ed Case |
