STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR LINDA LINGLE ON AURORA SHOOTING TRAGEDY
HONOLULU - Governor Linda Lingle, candidate for Hawaii's open U.S. Senate seat, released the following statement regarding the tragic shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.
"This morning the people of Hawaii woke to the horrific news about last night's shooting in Aurora, Colorado. Like all of you who are also closely following this terrible incident, I am deeply saddened by this senseless act. I am keeping the families directly affected by this shooting in my thoughts and prayers.
"This tragedy reminds us of how fragile life is, and how important it is to make certain we express our love to family and friends every day.
"Let us all continue to join with the rest of the nation as we hold the grieving families of Aurora close in our thoughts and spirit-filled prayers."
