LACERS SELECTS CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER

LOS ANGELES (June 20, 2012) — The Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS) has selected Rodney L. June as Chief Investment Officer. This appointment marks the return of Mr. June to LACERS, where he served as an Investment Officer II from 1998 to January 2008.
Since 2008, Mr. June was the Chief Investment Officer of the State of Hawaii Employees’ Retirement System overseeing an $11 billion portfolio. Mr. June will start in his new position on July 10, 2012.
Mr. June has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Auburn University. His bachelor’s degree is from California State University, Long Beach, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
LACERS administers the City’s pension plan to more than 43,000 Active and Retired City employees and other beneficiaries. LACERS’ portfolio is approximately $10.4 billion.

PIONLINE: Mr. June is CIO of the $11.5 billion Hawaii Employees’ Retirement System, Honolulu. Vijoy Chattergy, investment specialist, has been named interim CIO, subject to administrative approvals, said Wes Machida, administrator for the retirement system. The board is in the process of determining the search process, he said.
