Hawaii/Pacific Basin AHEC completes initial physician workforce assessment.
The Hawaii/Pacific Basin Area Health Education Center (AHEC) has established a database of actively practicing non-military physicians in Hawaii. Hawaii is approximately 600 physicians short of what a similar community has on the mainland, and this could grow to 1,600 in 10 years.
