Mitt Romney Statement on Victory in Hawaii, American Samoa

"I am delighted to have won the Hawaii and American Samoa caucuses. From one end of America to the other, the voters have spoken. And what they have said is that they want to send a conservative businessman to the White House. With these two contests, I have gained at least 18 additional delegates on my quest for the Republican Party presidential nomination. It's time for Republicans to join together and focus on our central challenge, which is defeating Barack Obama at the polls this coming November. The country can't afford four more years of his failed economic policies. It's time to make our federal government simpler, smaller, and smarter. I know the way forward. And I thank all those voters who have shown their confidence in my ability to turn our great country around."

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Statement on the Hawaii Caucus

News Release from Republican National Committee

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement regarding the results of the Hawaii caucus:

“I congratulate Mitt Romney on his victory in Hawaii,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “I applaud all of our candidates for their work, and I thank Hawaiians for voicing their desire for a new direction.

“After three years of the Obama presidency, it’s clear that we are not better off. More Americans are out of work or without enough work. Groceries, gas, and healthcare are more expensive, but Americans are making less. On the other hand, special interests and big-money donors get jobs and political favors from President Obama’s administration. All the while, the president continues to demand higher taxes, more regulations, and more debt.

“We cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama. We need new leadership. We need a Republican in the White House who will support true economic opportunity and fiscal responsibility. In November, we can make that a reality.”
