Democratic CD2 candidate Tulsi Gabbard’s sudden election-season conversion from pro-life to pro-abortion and from pro-family to pro-gay marriage is more than some Hawaii Progressive Democrats can swallow. Lacking a serious contender to face Mufi Hannemann in the Primary, pro-abortion Emily’s List has endorsed Gabbard, thus directing national pro-abortion and gay campaign money her way. Now some Hawaii progressive Dems have launched a petition drive calling on Emily’s List to rescind its endorsement.

Tulsi Gabbard, a Democratic candidate for Hawaii's Second Congressional District has been endorsed by EMILY's List. She is also a strong, outspoken opponent of rights for gays and lesbians. She supported Hawaii designation of marriage as between one man and one woman and opposed the recent civil unions bill. She has restated her opposition to recognition of same-sex relationships shortly after announcing her candidacy for the 2nd Congressional District.
