News Release from Lingle2012.com
HONOLULU - Former Governor Linda Lingle's U.S. Senate campaign is continuing to gain momentum with today's release of her 2011 fourth quarter fundraising numbers, which topped her personal expectations and goal.
An overview of the fourth quarter Federal Election Commission (FEC) campaign report shows that in just 82 days (Oct. 11-Dec. 31, 2011), 1545 individual donors, plus political action committees (PACs) and Partnerships, contributed $1,767,310.42 to the Linda Lingle U.S. Senate campaign, of which nearly 44% was raised from generous supporters in Hawaii.
"I am very grateful for the strong support the community has shown me in the first two and a half months of my campaign for U.S. Senate. Contributors not only have supported me financially, but they have invited me into their homes and businesses to discuss issues important to their families and companies, including the economy and jobs, and Social Security and Medicare," said Gov. Linda Lingle. "In these difficult economic times, I am honored and humbled to have so many local donors and such a significant amount of contributions from voters across the state," Gov. Lingle added.
Since announcing her candidacy on October 11, 2011, Gov. Lingle has traveled around the state meeting with residents about her plans to stimulate the economy to spur job creation for our state and country. She has been inspired by the thousands of citizens who have shown their support through grassroots involvement and financial investment in her campaign.
"It is clear that Linda Lingle's history of working with diverse groups has resonated well with the people of Hawaii," said Major General (ret.) Bob Lee, campaign manager. "Her positions on key issues are in line with the values of the people of Hawaii. Voters have recognized that Linda Lingle will bring her executive experience and independent, common-sense solutions to the United States Senate and she will always put 'people first' above party politics," Lee added.
A complete fundraising report was filed today with the Federal Elections Commission by the Linda Lingle Senate Committee according to federal campaign regulations.
