VIDEO: Occupy Wall Street–Preview of APEC Protests?

Is Honolulu getting a preview of upcoming anti-APEC protests?

Miscellaneous Maoists, anarchists and Ron Paul supporters are attempting to “Occupy Wall Street” September 17-25 in New York City.

These videos produced by the New York protesters show lots of self-righteous college radicals being arrested by the police while other protesters pretend to be outraged about it. This is the same travelling roadshow which has hit international economic gatherings consistently since the 1999 “anti-Globalization” riots in Seattle. (See Seattle VIDEO, More Video, and MOVIE TRAILER.)

The Hawaii ACLU is preparing in advance a legal defense for APEC rioters with the case of the “National Go Topless Day” protesters recently cited in Waikiki. The two UH Manoa student-protesters were cited for “failing to obtain a parks department permit for meetings or gatherings or other similar activity held by organizations, associations or groups."

The Star-Advertiser is editorially backing the ACLU’s disruption preparations.

The ACLU makes no bones about its interest in APEC. Civil Beat—owned by uber-Globalizer Pierre Omidyar--reports:

"We are appalled that this close to APEC, with hundreds and perhaps thousands of protesters, and the eyes of the world on Honolulu, that HPD still does not understand or respect the rights of protesters," said Laurie A. Temple, a staff Attorney for the ACLU of Hawaii….

In several videos from New York, protesters appear to have set up tents on the sidewalk, hence the Hawaii ACLU’s interest in litigating the rights of the homeless to camp on public sidewalks. “Tents and kitchens” are part of the “Occupy Wall Street” protest plan.

Honolulu’s saving grace is of course its position 2500 miles from the continent. The nearest concentrations of professional protesters are in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The local Maoists and the neo-Marxist rabble which habituate these protests can only achieve so much. Most of their Honolulu protests draw only a couple of hundred of the usual suspects.

So the key question is: How many professional protesters will be flown in by the well-heeled socialists who fund this circus?

Perhaps this would be a good time for airlines to adopt strict body odor rules on Hawaii-bound flights.
