Aiming for $1M Dollars, Djou reaches out to Grassroots Donors
By Rep Charles Djou @ 4:28 PM :: 9073 Views :: Maui County, Education K-12, Energy, Environment, National News, Ethics

Concerned over the partisan squabbling over the debt ceiling and the downgrading of our nation's debt, I recently announced that I would run for the U.S. House of Representatives.

The policies of Washington, D.C. have created too few jobs and too little economic growth in Hawai‘i and the U.S. Our nation’s budget deficit needs to be contained and we must find a long term solution to our looming national debt.

In short, we need to be more vigilant about our nation’s finances.I hope I can count on your support now, as I have in the past.

At stake is nothing less than whether we will continue to be a great nation or whether we will slide into obsolescence. At stake is whether our children will find good jobs, whether our families will be able to stay in Hawai‘i, whether we will have the resources to protect our environment and provide the social services we pledged to provide.

And that's why I believe it's more important than ever to elect a congressman who realizes that every dollar the government spends is a tax dollar collected from you and millions of other hardworking Americans. You deserve a representative who will fight for you, who will work across party lines to do what is in your best interests, and who will wake up every morning with the sole purpose of making life better for the people he is elected to represent.

A serious run for U.S. Congress will require more than $1 million in campaign funds. Your early support will help us to kick this campaign off right. So I ask you now to renew your commitment to change in Hawai‘i and change in Washington.

.Your early contribution of $50 or $100 or $250 will make a tremendous difference as we begin bringing our message to the Hawai‘i electorate

Mahalo in advance for your generous support! While I will soon be deploying to Afghanistan, please feel free to contact me with your questions, suggestions and concerns now or when I return. I enjoy hearing from you and getting to know you, and I look forward to standing alongside you once again as we fight for change in Hawai‘i and Washington!

Aloha,

Charles K. Djou
