News Release from www.GOPHawaii.com
HONOLULU - The Hawaii Republican Party announced today that Executive Director, Dylan Nonaka, has left his post to launch his own political and public affairs consulting firm, The Kahua Group (www.kahuagroup.com) enabling him to spend more time with his young family.
Nonaka has served as the Executive Director of the Hawaii Republican Party since May of 2010. Prior to this, he managed Charles Djou's special election campaign, and before moving to Oahu, was the Hawaii County Republican Party Chair where he assisted with numerous Republican campaigns for State and Federal offices and Governor Lingle's re-election campaign in 2006.
Jonah Kaauwai, the Hawaii Republican Party Chairman, praised Nonaka for his service to the party. “Dylan is a true public servant and has been part of cultivating a new generation of Republican leaders and renewing grassroots confidence, Kaauwai said. “Dylan is a trusted counselor, friend and leader. On behalf of the Hawaii Republican Party, I offer our deep gratitude for a job well done and best wishes for success in his future endeavors.”
Nonaka will continue to be involved with the Hawaii Republican Party and to work with GOP legislators to recruit and train Republican candidates. House Minority Leader, Gene Ward, who worked closely with Nonaka on the Republicans’ coordinated campaign in 2010 said, “Dylan is one of the most valuable assets of our party. Over the last year, he's shown an unmatched determination and relentless work ethic that I am positive will get more Republicans elected in years to come. Though I am very sorry he will no longer be available for the day-to-day operations of our headquarters, I am excited about his renewed commitment to Republican candidates and campaigns. Dylan continues to be an integral part of our plan to put more Republicans in office, and I look forward to working with him to accomplish our goals."
Nonaka is married to Monica Nonaka and is the father of two boys, D.J. aged 3 and Mason aged 8 months.
