Planned Parenthood Hawaiʻi Opens Virtual Health Center, Increasing Access to Health Care Across the State

Telehealth services will connect patients across Hawaiʻi to trusted providers — no travel required.

HAWAIʻI — No matter where you live in Hawaiʻi, accessing high-quality, compassionate health care just got easier. Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawaiʻi, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky (PPGNHAIK) is proud to announce the launch of our new Virtual Health Center, a game-changing expansion of our existing telehealth care for patients seeking essential health services across rural Hawaiʻi.  

With the launch of the VHC, anyone in Hawaiʻi can now connect with a trusted PPGNHAIK provider from the comfort of home — or wherever they feel most at ease. This expansion of services eliminates the need for long travel times, time off work, or navigating child care logistics just to see a provider. 

Hawaiʻi’s geography presents distinct challenges when it comes to access care. For many, reaching a provider requires a costly flight or hours of travel — barriers that can delay or even prevent people from getting the healthcare they need. The VHC is a lifeline, bringing expert, nonjudgmental care directly to patients, no matter where they live. Patients can more easily book virtual appointments for a range of services, including: 

• Birth control and emergency contraception
• Abortion consultations and medication abortion 
• Gender-affirming care for anyone 18 years old and up 
• STI testing and treating
• And more!

PPGNHAIK currently provides virtual health appointments every Monday through March 24. Starting April 1, availability will expand to partial days on both Tuesdays and Fridays.
