GOVERNOR SIGNS PUBLIC LANDS BILLS INTO LAW
News Release from www.hawaii.gov/gov
Honolulu – Governor Neil Abercrombie today signed into law two senate bills that move the state forward in identifying land ownership and build partnerships to maintain state lands. They are:
- Senate Bill 2 which creates a repository of land inventory of public trust lands in the State of Hawai'i, and;
- Senate Bill 1555 which establishes the public land development corporation to administer an appropriate and culturally-sensitive public land development program. The program allows businesses to lease state lands; revenues generated would go to a special fund within the Department of Land and Natural Resources to help maintain those state lands.
Governor Abercrombie also signed into law House Bill 1313, which authorizes the issuance of special purpose revenue bonds for Windward Nazarene Academy.
