Djou for Hawaii

Former Congressman Charles K. Djou reacted to today's announcement by Congresswoman Mazie Hirono that she will run for the U.S. Senate in 2012.

"I wish Mazie well in her effort to seek higher elective office. It was my pleasure to have served with her in Congress and to have represented her as a congressman and city councilmember.

I sincerely appreciate all of the kind words and encouragement to return to elective office that I have received over the past several months from so many of my former constituents. I will continue to serve our community and will carefully consider how I may best do that in the future," stated Djou.

Charles Djou represented Hawaii's 1st Congressional District in the 111th Congress and previously served in the Hawaii State House and Honolulu City Council.
