This research focused on the average number of passengers flying in December, calculated over five years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023), to identify the states with the busiest airports during the holiday season.
According to the data, Hawaii leads the nation with 88,703 passengers per 100,000 residents. This is 11 times the national average of 7,746 per capita. In December, an average of 1,269,231 passengers fly through the airports of Hawaii, which has a population of over 1.4 million.

Methodology
