ACTION ALERT: Stop the misguided "empty homes" tax proposal
Calling all Oahu residents!
from Grassroot Institute, Nov 30, 2024
The Honolulu City Council is considering Bill 46, which would create a tax on all so-called empty homes.
You might be asking, "What constitutes an empty home?" That's a good question, and it still hasn't been fully answered!
The Honolulu City Council is paying a consulting firm $500,000 to help uncover some of the answers. However, that study has yet to be completed.
That’s why we need you to contact your representatives at Honolulu Hale. Let them know this proposal feels rushed, and that there are still too many unanswered questions.
We've made it simple to write a custom message in as little as two minutes using our online dashboard.
There, you will be given sample wording that you can customize. Then just enter your contact information, hit send, and an email will be sent to the Honolulu City Council and Mayor Rick Blangiardi.
Thank you for taking the time to get involved and make a difference.
