Hawaii has no state-funded shooting facilities
from HIFICO, Nov 12 2024
The Hawaii legislative session starts in January and it's important that you get involved now.
Did you know that Hawaii currently lacks any state-funded shooting facilities across all counties? This means limited opportunities for safe firearm training, recreational shooting, and practice for our local law enforcement.
Let's try and do something positive for the shooting community across all islands and get the state to support safe areas to train, teach, and participate.
HERES HOW!
State-funded shooting facilities would benefit our communities in many ways:
>Enhanced Safety & Education: A state-funded facility offers a safe, supervised environment for firearm training and safety education.
>Local Law Enforcement Support: These facilities would give law enforcement officers a dedicated space for regular training, ensuring they’re well-prepared.
>Opportunities for Recreation & Competition: Hawaii residents deserve local options to participate in shooting sports, and such facilities could even host events that boost tourism!
>Community & Youth Programs: These facilities could host youth programs, workshops, and events that promote responsible firearm use.
How You Can Help:
>Contact Your State Legislators: Let them know you support funding for public shooting facilities in Hawaii. A simple message sharing why these facilities are important to you and the community can make a huge difference.
>Find Your Legislators: Visit Hawaii's State Legislature website and enter your zip code to locate your state representatives and senators.
>Send an Email or Make a Call: A quick email or phone call can have a big impact! Share your concerns about the lack of facilities and explain how they would benefit Hawaii's residents. You can even suggest that they sponsor or support a bill to fund these facilities.
>Spread the Word: Encourage friends, family, and community members to reach out too. The more voices legislators hear, the more they’ll understand the importance of this cause.
Together, we can advocate for a safe, accessible space to support education, recreation, and training. Let’s make Hawaii a leader in responsible firearm education and safety!
