OHA Trustee Keli'i Akina Files for Re-election

News release from Akina Campaign, April 24, 2024

HONOLULU, HAWAI’I -  Keli'i Akina, Ph.D. filed nomination papers to run for re-election to the position of Trustee At-Large for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. Akina was elected in 2020 to his second term as Trustee At-Large with 197,829 votes. All registered voters in Hawaii are eligible to vote for OHA Trustees.

"I am seeking re-election to complete the work I began for Hawaiians and all people of the state of Hawai’i," said Akina. "Although I have successfully helped to reverse the trend of fraud, waste, and abuse at OHA, much more must be done. It is now time to ensure that the wealth of OHA is used to provide Hawaiians with housing, economic opportunity, education, and health care. And it is also time that the needs of all people in Hawai’i are met. I'm committed to bringing people together to work for the common good."
