HIRONO AND HANABUSA AGAIN VOTE TO SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT AND STOP PAYING OUR TROOPS
The Hawaii Republican Party released the following statement today regarding the continuing resolution to avoid a government shut down and allow for negotiations to continue.
Hawaii Republican Party Chairman Jonah Kaauwai said, “Unfortunately, Congresswomen Hirono and Hanabusa continue to put partisan politics ahead of the people’s business. Their votes against the House continuing resolution which keeps the federal government operating and ensures federal employees will receive a paycheck, including those of our military men and woman serving in harm’s way is irresponsible. Last year, Democrats failed to pass a federal budget when they held both the House and Senate in addition to the White House. Now Hirono and Hanabusa are choosing to oppose every plan to clean up their mess and do not want to make the tough but responsible choices to get our fiscal house in order.”
The continuing resolution passed the House by a vote of 274-181 with 15 Democrats voting for it.
