HAWAII GOP CHAIR COMMENTS ON THE PRESIDENTS REELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT
News Release from www.GOPHawaii.com
The Hawaii Republican Party released the following statement today regarding President Obama’s reelection campaign announcement.
Hawaii Republican Party Chairman Jonah Kaauwai said, “Now that President Obama has announced that he will be seeking a second term, voters in Hawaii and across the Nation need to ask themselves if they are better off now than they were two and a half years ago. Although President Obama may be personally popular in Hawaii, the effects of his policies nationally are clear. He has increased our national debt by 3.5 trillion, the unemployment rate is at 8.8%, household income is down and health insurance premiums continue to rise despite the health care reform bill he signed into law.”
Kaauwai continued, “Our country needs leadership that is willing to take on the most important, overarching and serious issue of the $14 trillion national debt. We cannot keep passing the bill for our overspending on to our children. We need to judge the President based on the things he has and has not done, not on where he was born or what High School he went to.”
