Djou: No plans to seek seat in Senate (Hawaii Tribune-Herald)
"I look forward to supporting Gov. Lingle," Djou told the more than 50 people who attended his two-hour speech. "I believe she will make a very good U.S. senator."
Djou said he expects her to make a decision this summer.
And if Lingle doesn't run for the Senate opening?
"Let's just say my wife and I will have a very long discussion," said Djou, who served in the state House of Representatives and on the Honolulu City Council before winning a special 2010 election to fill the vacancy created when Democratic Congressman Neil Abercrombie resigned to run for Hawaii governor.

Former U.S. Rep. Charles Djou says he's waiting to see whether former Gov. Linda Lingle runs for U.S. Senate next year before deciding whether he will seek the Republican nomination.
Djou told the Conservative Forum for Hawaii this weekend that he supports Lingle, and he said she would make a strong successor to Democratic Sen. Daniel Akaka, who announced this month he won't seek re-election.
