Rep. Jill Tokuda Announces Federal Resource Fair for Those Impacted by Maui Fires

(Hawai‘i)– Representative Jill Tokuda (HI-02) announced that her office is holding a federal resource fair for constituents on Maui impacted by the devastating fires. The resource fair is happening this Saturday, August 19, 2023, in Kihei.
Tokuda and her team will be on site with a collection of federal agencies to take immediate action on behalf of constituents who’ve lost personal documents in the fires. Tokuda’s staff will also provide ongoing direct support for everyone to ensure that their individual issues are fully resolved in an expedited manner.
On site with Rep. Tokuda and her office will be:
- The State Department: Passport Replacement
- FEMA: Disaster Aid
- The Social Security Administration: Social Security Card Replacement
- The Veterans Administration: Veterans Benefits
- Veterans Affairs Pacific Island Health Care System: Health Care Support
- Small Business Administration: Small Business Support
- USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Services: Agricultural Support for Producers and Communities
- Maui Economic Opportunity
Additional agencies are pending.
It’s important to note that this is not a town hall, but an event specifically designed to provide individual assistance for those impacted by the fires, or who need assistance with a federal agency. Rep. Tokuda asks the public to honor this so they can serve those who are in the most need immediately following the crisis.

Maui Economic Opportunity will provide shuttle service from the shelter at the South Maui Community Park Gym to the federal resource fair. The shuttle is reserved for those staying in shelters or community members directly impacted by the fires.
