Amber Jackson Murder Case Reopened 13 years later
Kauai Police and outside agencies working on forensic evidence and DNA testing
News Release from AJJG, July 3, 2023
July 3, 2023 – Thirteen years ago today, Amber Jackson’s body was found, in a remote and inaccessible part of the island, after she was brutally murdered. Amber was reported missing on June 24, 2010.
The Kauai Police Department (KPD) has announced that it has reopened the Amber Jackson murder case. KPD is working with outside agencies on forensic evidence and DNA testing. Kauai Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like is actively consulting and strategizing with KPD on case developments and forensic testing.
Statement from Matt Alexander, Amber’s nephew:
“We are still grieving our beloved Amber’s senseless and brutal murder and we are not giving up. We know that someone out there has information that could help solve the case. If you or someone you know has information that could shed light on the murder of Amber Jackson, please come forward.”
