WEST MAUI TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION (WMTA) 2011 ANNUAL MEETING
Lahaina, Hawai`i –The West Maui community is invited and encouraged to attend the WMTA Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Lahaina Civic Center. Registration begins with Delicious Complimentary Food Service for all-- at 5:00 PM with the business meeting starting at 5:30 PM.
The WMTA Annual Meeting is a well-attended yearly event by their active members and others who support the WMTA. A delicious dinner will be provided Complimentary to all. The meeting has attracted between 250-300 attendees in recent years and seems to be gaining in popularity. The meeting will be videotaped for later broadcast on community public television, as well as posted on the WMTA website at www.westmaui.org
Mayor Alan Arakawa will be attending and will make opening remarks, as well as speaking about his plans for West Maui in particular. The past several years, the WMTA has featured community interest presentations at these Annual Meetings and they have been very well received by the community and our local politicians who have been invited to attend as well. This meeting will feature presentations on the Lahaina Bypass progress, West Maui Hospital, affordable housing projects, Kaanapali 2020 updates to name a few. Presentation Sponsors will also be on hand with informational tables to share about their programs and services. Please be sure to visit them.
The general business portion of the meeting typically takes less than 15 minutes and is quickly conducted to meet minimum requirements called for in the Bylaws for the election of directors. For this portion of the meeting, voting and oral participation is only allowed for dues paid members on record.

ABOUT WEST MAUI TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION - The West Maui Taxpayers Association (WMTA) is a non-profit 501 (c) (4) organization founded in 1974 to provide an organized voice of support for public and private improvements which have potential benefit for the West Maui community from Lahaina to Kapalua. WMTA was founded to assure that West Maui would receive its fair share of tax-funded improvements by state and county governments. WMTA has been at work on these improvements for over 30 years.
