Email sent to Party members 12-11-10
From www.GOPHawaii.com
Unfortunately, you may have received or heard about emails being sent out by a disgruntled party member who has made a habit of making off base complaints and wild accusations. For those who have been party members for a while, you know that he does this every year and you may already be disregarding them. For those who have recently joined, these accusations may be alarming and that is why although most of what is said should be disregarded, we feel it is necessary to address a few of the points.
First, the party is not in financial distress. We have been and will meet all financial obligations and there is absolutely no truth to this claim. Further, the Party financial records are filed and posted on-line with the State Campaign Spending commission and Federal Elections Commission regularly as required. These requirements make our finances completely open and transparent so calls for an audit and accusations of financial impropriety are bizarre, our financial records are available for all the public to see.
In addition, the insinuation that somehow spending too much money during the election was irresponsible is comical. Political parties exist to spend their money on campaigns and that is what we did. This criticism is only valid if you would rather see the party hoard money and not spend it on winning elections. We are confident that donors want their money spent on elections and not held in a bank account collecting interest.
Second, there is absolutely no truth to the claim that we may move out of or lose our Head Quarters. The fact is, we own the office we are in and the 2011 budget that was presented to the State Committee clearly shows that it is funded.
It is disappointing these kinds of accusations have to be addressed but it was necessary to set the record straight in this case. It is also important to note that your email addresses were never shared with this individual by the party. He improperly uses them against the wishes of most recipients which further speaks to his character. If you do not wish to receive emails from this individual, the most effective thing to do is block or filter them with your email program. As many of you know, requests to be removed are ignored.
Thank you for your continued support and if you ever have any questions or concerns we are always available to talk via email or phone.
