BOE INDUCTION CEREMONY SET FOR NOV. 29
HONOLULU – The Hawaii State Board of Education will hold an induction ceremony on Monday, Nov. 29, for seven candidates elected on Nov. 2 to serve a four-year term as members of the Board.
The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at Aliiolani Hale in the second floor of the Supreme Court of the State of Hawaii, located at 417 South King St.
Hawaii Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald will administer the oath of office to four new Board members, including Maralyn Kurshals, who will represent the Leeward District, Leona Rocha-Wilson, the incoming Maui District member, and Randall Yee and Pamela Young of the Oahu At-Large District.
Three sitting Board members who won re-election also are being inducted: Central District member Eileen Clarke, Oahu At-Large member Kim Coco Iwamoto, and Windward District member John Penebacker.
