HONOLULU - Lynn Finnegan today issued the following statement after casting her early ballot for the 2010 General Election. Lynn was joined by her husband, Peter Finnegan, Honolulu Fire Department Captain, their parents and an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, many of whom represent Hawai‘i's large Filipino community.
"As we move into the final days of this exciting campaign, Duke and I can feel the momentum swelling. Like many of our supporters, and like Duke and Vivian did earlier this week, Peter and I are casting our ballots early.
"Duke and I have been traveling the state and meeting with residents and families who represent Hawai‘i's richly diverse culture. We are proud to have earned the support of these working families and Hawai‘i's small business owners.
"We are committed to Hawai‘i's future to ensure a stronger, more vibrant economy, a student-focused education system and a balanced system of government that works to meet the best interests of all the people of Hawai‘i.
"Our opponents, however, wish to take our state back to a system of one-party control, where special interests are center stage."
