Duke and Lynn Post Strong Grassroots Fundraising Totals

from www.AionaFinnegan.com

HONOLULU - Dutch Hanohano, campaign manager for Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan, today announced that Duke Aiona has raised more than $323,000 from Sept. 19 to Oct. 18 in the 2010 General Election. Lynn Finnegan raised nearly $159,000 in the same period, bringing the total contributions of the fundraising period to $484,158. Duke Aiona has raised nearly $3 million from supporters of his gubernatorial campaign.

Approximately 89 percent of Duke Aiona's total contributions were from Hawai‘i residents. Nearly 70 percent of his total donations were $100 or less, reflecting his true grassroots campaign.

"We've seen a flood of support since Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan began the general election campaign for Governor and Lt. Governor," said Dutch Hanohano. "We're so appreciative of every donation, which moves us closer to electing Duke and Lynn to create job opportunities, strengthen the economy and reform our public education system. This is a real Hawai‘i-based grassroots campaign, and our voters have a choice. They can either vote for our opponents who would like to bring the divisive political culture of Washington to Hawai‘i, or vote to ensure balanced, honest and fiscally responsible leadership for all of Hawai‘i."
