Hawai‘i Island Contractors' Association Endorses Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan

HONOLULU – Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan today announced that the Hawai‘i Island Contractors' Association (HICA) has endorsed their campaign for Governor and Lt. Governor of Hawai‘i.

"We are pleased to support Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan," said Earl Yempuku, Legislative Committee Chair. "They are committed to providing a business-friendly environment."

"My top priority is creating job opportunities, and Lynn and I are ready to go right now with a detailed jobs plan formed with the input of our citizens," said Duke Aiona. "My opponent is not being honest with the people of Hawai‘i about his plans to grow government at the expense of small businesses. He is not saying whether he will cut programs or raise taxes."

The HICA membership includes smaller general and subcontractors, as well as equipment and material suppliers. Associate members also include accountants, insurance carriers, financial institutions and utility companies. It is the mission of HICA to be the voice of its members in industry-related matters in the State of Hawai‘i, and particularly on the Big Island.

As Governor, Duke Aiona will expedite contracts for approximately $946 million in approved state capital works projects over the next 18 months. He will also continue to modernize state airports, contracting approximately $2.3 billion over 15 years, and upgrade and expand our state harbors, contracting approximately $618 million over eight years.

Duke and Lynn's policy agenda for jobs and the economy is available online at www.AionaFinnegan.com/realsolutions.
