HONOLULU (AP) — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Neil Abercrombie on Tuesday switched positions and voted for a proposed constitutional amendment that would give a governor the authority to appoint the state Board of Education.
Abercrombie's move came amid criticism from his Republican rival, Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona, that the former congressman flip-flopped positions on the Nov. 2 ballot proposal....
