HONOLULU - Travis Taylor, communications director for the Aiona-Finnegan Campaign, today issued the following statement in response to the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce's gubernatorial candidate debate.

"After several polls have showed Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan surge in the polls, our opponent is ramping up his rhetoric and getting desperate.

"In addition to the usual lack of specifics and inability to show how he'll create job opportunities or pay for the promises he's making, our opponent flip-flopped again on the issue of an appointed school board and noticeably became agitated with Duke's specific, real solutions for the people of Hawai‘i.

"Working families and small businesses don't want the tax and spend politics of Washington brought to Hawai‘i, but that's exactly what they would get with our opponent.

"Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan are ready to lead now with real solutions to create job opportunities, strengthen the local economy and reform our public education system."
