HONOLULU - Duke Aiona and Lynn Finnegan today announced the launch of their website, www.AionaFinnegan.com, and other joint efforts to reach out and connect with residents online. They have joined together on Facebook, where Duke Aiona has already added more than 11,300 friends and supporters - more than any elected official in the state.

On Twitter, Duke Aiona (@DukeAiona2010) and Lynn Finnegan (@LynnFinnegan) have more than 4,200 followers.

In addition, Duke and Lynn recently launched a mobile text messaging program to provide real-time updates to subscribers. The public is invited to join by texting DUKE to the 5-digit code 21824.

"New media is the wave of the future, and our grassroots campaign is on the cutting edge," said Duke Aiona. "Our supporters are incredibly innovative, and these social media tools help us connect both personally and professionally."

"People are looking to social media to get the latest news and information, and teaming up will help us reach more of our residents across the islands," said Lynn Finnegan. "Our online communities help us to spread our message and listen to our residents."

Duke and Lynn will also post videos on a joint YouTube channel. On Sunday, they launched the first of a new series of videos they will share online to discuss real solutions for all of Hawai‘i. They will also post photos on their Flickr page.
