Republicans showed unprecedented unity with the unveiling of a 2011 legislative action plan outlining specific proposals to improve Hawaii’s economy, education and government.
The plan, spearheaded by the Republican Caucus, was unveiled today by incumbents and key State House Senate Republican candidates. Click here for a full list of participating candidates. Gubernatorial candidate Duke Aiona and his running mate Rep. Lynn Finnegan, as well as Congressman Charles Djou have also signed on to the plan.
“For the past eight years we’ve brought balance to the executive branch of the state government,” said HRP Chairman Jonah Ka’auwai. “Now, we need a responsive, effective and balanced state legislature.”
The plan was part of a Unity Lunch and press conference held at the Hawaii Republican Party headquarters which brought all Republican candidates together after a spirited primary election. Many candidates involved in primaries attended the lunch.
