TMT wins again!
News Release from Imua TMT, January 29, 2021
On January 27, 2021, the Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals issued another legal win for TMT. The ICA affirmed a lower court decision finding that the chief of the Hawaii County Police Department had the authority to request aid from Maui County Police Department (MPD) and the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) to protect TMT and the public at Mauna Kea.

The ICA's decision shows, yet again, that the long arc of justice bends toward TMT. TMT should start construction as soon as possible. We hope the protesters come around to realize that astronomy on Mauna Kea is Hawaiian culture, but in the event they do not, we are happy to know that MPD and HPD will be able to assist Hawaii County Police in keeping the peace.
